Get Out the Vote! Get a Mini-grant to Help!
tuesday, March 20, 2018
Frauenthal Center, Hilt Building 3rd floor
Voting and civic engagement matter, now more than ever. We recently learned of a strategy to increase both that involves working through nonprofits…not adding new programs, but incorporating messages and activities about voting into what we’re already doing.
Why nonprofits? Because many of us have daily contact with all kinds of people, but especially those groups who tend to be under-represented at the polls. Whether it’s hanging posters in lobbies, reminding people to vote (or helping them register) at intake, hosting a candidate forum, or providing information, we can help bring out the voices and issues that matter to our communities.
Are you intrigued? Join us to talk on Tuesday, March 20 at 4 p.m. in the 3rd floor Ballroom, Hilt Building. There are resources, toolkits, webinars, and more available at http://www.nonprofitvote.org including a Voter Participation Starter Kit that can give you ideas of ways your organization can participate.
The Community Foundation for Muskegon County will also be talking about our WATCH MUSKEGON VOTE mini-grants that can provide funding to support your efforts!
